BRUCE BORLAND, son of John and Harriet Olivia (Blair) Borland, was born in Chicago, July 31, 1880. His advanced education was received in Harvard University, which he attended with his brother Chauncey, and from which he was graduated with his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1901, with magna cum laude, and from which he received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1902. Since his graduation Mr. Borland has been engaged in the profession of mechanical engineering, in which he holds high place, having several valuable patents to his credit. He is of an inventive turn of mind, and has perfected a very valuable lock.
Mr. Borland is also associated with the Chicago Car Seal Company. He is a director of the Glenwood Manual Training School; a member of the Society of the Automotive Engineers, and his clubs are: The Chicago, Saddle and Cycle, University, Onwentsia, Shore Acre, and Harvard (New York, Boston, and Chicago). He is also a devotee of out-of-door sports. He is an attendant and vestryman of the Episcopal church.
Bruce Borland married, June 24, 1909, Dorothy Fuller (see
Fuller IX), who is the daughter of Leroy W. Fuller, of Chicago.
