HARRIET OLIVIA BLAIR, daughter of
Chauncey Buckley and Caroline Olivia (De Groff) Blair, was born in Chicago, Illinois, January 30, 1847. She married John Jay Borland. (See
Borland VI.) Mrs. Borland has for many years been active and prominent in the social life of Chicago. She is a member of the Woman's, Fortnightly, Saddle and Cycle, and Casino Clubs; the Colonial Dames of America, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Together with her brothers, Mr. Chauncey Justus Blair and Mr. Henry Blair, she donated a Parish House, given as a loving memorial to their father, Chauncey Buckley Blair, to Trinity Church, Chicago. Mrs. Borland is much interested in the Children's Memorial Hospital, where she has endowed several beds. She has also endowed a Clinical Research Fellowship in St. Luke's Hospital, in memory of her husband, John Jay Borland.
