        SAMUEL BLAIR, son of Rufus and Dolly (Boies) Blair, was born in Blandford, September 11, 1781. As eldest son after the death of his father, he carried on the affairs of the estate and farm, but later ran a store until 1811, when he removed to Columbus, Chenango County, New York. Two or three years later he removed to Homer, Cortland County, New York, but subsequently settled in the nearby town of Cortland, in the same county. He died there, May 21, 1862.
        Samuel Blair married, in Blandford, November 28, 1804, Hannah Frary. (See Frary VI.)

  1. Caroline, born in Blandford, January 29, 1806.
  2. Justus Phineas, born in Blandford, March 31, 1808, died in Rochester, New York, in 1827, aged nineteen years.

  4. Samuel, born in Columbus, New York, May 22, 1812.
  5. Lyman, born in Port Watson, New York, November 20, 1815.
  6. William, born in Cortland, New York, May 20, 1818.
  7. Anna Eliza, born in Cortland, New York, November 28, 1820.
